Perfect to keep dogs from “backing out” of their collar when on leash. Handcrafted with premium stainless steel or solid brass hardware and full grain leather, this collar is adjustable and available in Clip-on Style or Buckle Style so it does not need to pass over your dog’s head.

Description
Perfect for training or everyday walks—The chain allows the collar to tighten a bit, but not too much. Perfect to keep dogs from “backing out” of their collar when on leash. This design offers a gentler alternative to a choke, slip, or prong collars. Sometimes called a “half check” or “hound collar,” this collar tightens a couple of inches when leash pressure is applied to prevent dogs from slipping their collar without being choked. A Martingale is the best option for sighthounds because of their thick necks and small heads means they can easily slip out of regular collars, This collar is handmade in our own workshop from the same premium materials used for our leashes, and has the highest quality chain assembly that has been custom fabricated just for us in solid brass or stainless steel. BLD builds collars to last a lifetime. Original Clip-On style is our favorite! Clips around the dog’s neck, so you don’t have to put it over their head. Elegant and minimal, our uncommon adjustment buckle remains adjusted when you take the collar of your dog. It is sleek and has no tail of leather to flap about. Buckle style utilizes a regular flat buckle design. Buckle is secure and easily adjusted as you put the collar on your dog, yet is slightly bulkier than the original.
**NOTE: Electronic devices will not fit this collar, our quality materials are too thick.** *Measurements include chain in open/extended position. If in doubt, size up! All leather Martingale collars are 5/8 inch wide (16 mm) Measure around the dog’s neck as you’d like the collar to fit. The listed size measurements are taken with the chain in the open/extended position. Adjust so that when the collar is tightened it fits your dog’s neck snugly. We have two colors of leather: tan and black. Read more about our leather color options below: Our English Bridle Leather in LONDON TAN has a supple, satin-smooth finish and satisfying hand feel that is simply unmatched. This high-end leather in London Tan, cherished in the 19th century for the finest horse tack, ages to a warm patina while keeping its light brown and orange tones. Our lovely BLACK LATIGO leather is solid black and cut from select USA hides. Superior in quality and texture, it is incredibly durable yet very flexible. This leather feels great from the start and will simply get better with age.

Strong as a Brahma bull, this man-made leather alternative is great for your adventurous pal. It is constructed with webbing on the inside and a durable, non-tacky PVC coating on the outside. This material can take a beating through brush, muck, and saltwater. Brahma is great for any extreme weather condition, resilient in cold weather, and is resistant to abrasions and stink. It is a nice weight, flexible, and has a feel that resembles leather. It won’t absorb dirt & moisture like rope, nylon or fabric. Brahma material is so reliable that it comes with our unmatched Lifetime Warranty! Plus it is easy to clean: Just wipe clean with soap and water. Brahma is available in a range of colors: BLACK

Leather care is easy! Don’t worry too much, and don’t be afraid to use your items — we promise leather is incredibly resilient, and regular weather won’t hurt it. If you think your item looks dirty, dry, or just need a little extra love, pouring a little leather conditioner on a cloth, and rubbing it in like lotion will usually do the trick. Baths and a jaunt in the river are just fine, but you might want to offer a little conditioner to your products afterwards. Saltwater can be harsh, so after a visit to the ocean, a good rinse in fresh water and proper conditioning will help preserve and protect your treasured leash or collar. If your leather or Brahma leash, training equipment, or harness ever breaks or is damaged from regular use, simply contact Bold Lead Designs for a replacement or repair at no charge. There is no time limit. This is the best warranty in the industry.
Warranty is limited to replacement or repair of covered product only, and does not cover things outside of our control such as chewing, neglect, misuse, normal wear, external trauma or damage from an accident, or customer alterations. Customer is responsible for all related shipping costs.
FYI: Even if the item is not covered it often can be made functional again with a repair for a reasonable cost.
Exclusions: Items we don’t make in our workshop, such as accessories and consumable items, and items made of cloth/fabric are excluded. Non-leather and non-Brahma items, bldBASICS, any item sold "as-is", used, on clearance, that is imperfect and any item marked with a star is excluded from this warranty or guarantee. Some customized options may be excluded from warranty; such excluded items will be sold with information indicating a warranty is not included.
