The Atlas Leash™ – the most useful dog lead ever created

About the Atlas Leash Design:

Jennifer Kolar, founding board member of Atlas, approached Katrina with ideas to make a better leash. Jennifer asked if the BLD’s famous 8-Way Lead could have a few more options, including over-the-shoulder and around-the-waist options AND have both a longer and shorter leash for different activities. The goal was simple: one leash that could be used for training, working, playing, and relieving that could fit almost any size dog or person. The resulting leash was so amazing that we at BLD knew it would quickly become a customer favorite. We’ve partnered up to offer this special edition leash design to the world.

About Atlas Assistance Dogs®

Atlas Assistance Dogs is a 501(c)(3) non-profit disability rights organization that helps people who would benefit from a service dog take control of their own solution to live more independently. This ambitious organization is expanding the possibilities for assistance dog training by offering a comprehensive online training program for professional dog trainers and by supporting dog/handler teams with skilled Team Facilitators in as many locations as possible across the US.

BLD’s founder, owner, and designer Katrina Boldry has served on Atlas Assistance Dogs’ board of directors. Additionally, Katrina volunteers on several committees working on Atlas’ curriculum development. She is sharing content related to best practices for health and fitness of service dogs, as well as her knowledge and experience with specialized equipment including leashes for people in wheelchairs and mobility/balance dogs. She is also ensuring that the true challenges of facing a disability while working with a dog are acknowledged as a part of the training and certification process. Katrina is on a personal mission to share her unique knowledge regarding specialized canine equipment and believes this is just one way to attain that goal.

Hardware:

Black leather and all Brahma colors come standard with stainless steel (silver hardware).

Tan leather comes standard with solid brass hardware. 

Hardware modifications are possible! If you would like to put a different type of hardware on the leash, in the box that says “Another leather width or hardware (specify)”, type the desired hardware/leash snap. A list of hardware/leash snaps can be found here.

Brahma:

The Atlas leash can be made from Brahma, which is a leather alternative material. The Brahma material is available in two widths:

• Medium ½” wide (12.7 mm): Most popular size, great for all size dogs!
• XL ¾” wide (19 mm): Best for large breeds, this is a heavy-duty leash!

Brahma Atlas Leashes come standard in black, cobalt blue, teal, or purple.

**The other Brahma color options are Hunter Orange, Bright Red, and Bright Green, which can be made to order upon special request (custom charge applies). Other alterations are not recommended for this design.

Leather:

The Atlas leash can be made from either black or tan leather, which are both available in the following widths:

• Small 3/8″ wide (9.5 mm): For small breeds, and those who like a nice, light leash (not recommended for heavy pullers)
• Medium ½” wide (12.7 mm): Most popular size, great for all size dogs!
• XL ¾” wide (19 mm): Best for large breeds, this is a heavy-duty leash!

**Other leather widths or hardware color can be made to order upon special request (custom charge applies). Other alterations are not recommended for this design.

Our Golden TAN BRIDLE leather is 100% American vegetable-tanned leather, made with NO dyes or toxic metallic chemicals. Every item crafted from this high quality leather is HAND-OILED to bring out the softness, so your new gear arrives supple and only improves with age. The color will darken over time and with use.

Our lovely BLACK LATIGO leather is solid black and cut from select USA hides. Superior in quality and texture, it is incredibly durable yet very flexible. This leather feels great from the start and will simply get better with age.

Premium Leather:

Leather care is easy! Don’t worry too much, and don’t be afraid to use your items — we promise leather is incredibly resilient, and regular weather won’t hurt it. If you think your item looks dirty, dry, or just need a little extra love, pouring a little leather conditioner on a cloth, and rubbing it in like lotion will usually do the trick. Baths and a jaunt in the river are just fine, but you might want to offer a little conditioner to your products afterwards. Saltwater can be harsh, so after a visit to the ocean, a good rinse in fresh water and proper conditioning will help preserve and protect your treasured leash or collar. Brahma Soft-Grip—a vegan leather alternative:

Brahma Soft-Grip is constructed with webbing on the inside and a durable, non-tacky PVC coating on the outside; it virtually repels water and muck. Easy to care for: just wipe clean with soap and water. Brahma is always assembled with screw posts for durability. This material is heavier than leather (in a comparable width), and does not soften over time the way leather does. Black is the most popular color for wheelchair leashes, but assorted bright and classic colors are also available. Just ask for available color choices!

We stand behind the quality of our products. Bold Lead Designs’ handcrafted leather & Brahma products that we make in our workshop are guaranteed against defects in materials and craftsmanship for life! If your leather or Brahma leash, training equipment, or harness ever breaks or is damaged from regular use, simply contact Bold Lead Designs for a replacement or repair at no charge. There is no time limit. This is the best warranty in the industry. Warranty is limited to replacement or repair of covered product only, and does not cover things outside of our control such as chewing, neglect, misuse, normal wear, external trauma or damage from an accident, or customer alterations. Customer is responsible for all related shipping costs. FYI: Even if the item is not covered it often can be made functional again with a repair for a reasonable cost. Exclusions: Items we don’t make in our workshop, such as accessories and consumable items, and items made of cloth/fabric are excluded. Non-leather and non-Brahma items, bldBASICS, any item sold  "as-is", used, on clearance, that is imperfect and any item marked with a star is excluded from this warranty or guarantee. Some customized options may be excluded from warranty; such excluded items will be sold with information indicating a warranty is not included.
