Description
The versatile and all-in-one design of BLD’s Airport leash & collar will simplify your life. It is ideal for frequent flyers who travel with service/assistance dogs or pets permitted to fly aboard airplanes. Perfect for working dog handlers who visit secure sites including courthouses.

- Easy to use slip-collar has an adjustment fob and fits any size dog
- Can be worn as a harness by looping the lead under the dog’s chest and back through the collar for more control

Width:
- Small (3/8” / 7mm. width): Best for smaller and medium sized dogs.
- Medium (1/2” / 11mm. width): Great for medium sized dogs, yet sturdy enough for large dogs. *Most popular choice! *
- Large (5/8” / 14mm. width): Great for larger dogs, or those that like a heavier, sturdy feeling leash.
Length:
Choose the overall length of the leash: 4 or 6 feet. Remember your dog’s neck will use some of the length so the functional leash will be shorter. Six foot leashes will be made with two pieces of leather, with a braided splice 2 ft. below the handle.
About our leather:
BLACK LATIGO leather(Available in all widths.)
Our latigo is a lovely deep black and superior to ordinary leather in texture and quality. Latigo has a high tensile strength and tanned specifically for quality horse tack and premium pet products. Your leash will start out a bit firm yet flexible and will very quickly soften with just a few uses and continues to get better with age. The rich black color will not bleed or fade because it is struck through the leather in the tanning process, not just dyed on the surface. Made in North America from select heavy US native steer hides for durability, Stainless steel (silver color) hardware is standard.
English Bridle Leather in LONDON TAN(Available in 1/2 to 1 in. widths)
English bridle has a supple, satin-smooth finish and satisfying hand feel that is simply unmatched. This high-end leather in London Tan, cherished in the 19th century for the finest horse tack, ages to a warm patina while keeping its light brown and orange tones. This full grain leather is 100% veg tanned with no metals or harsh chemicals from only the best North American cow hides. ("English" refers to the style of tanning rather than a location. It does not darken the same our oiled golden tan leather.) Solid brass (gold colored) hardware is standard.
Golden TAN BRIDLE leather(Available in small 3/8 in. widths)
This lovely brown 100% American vegetable-tanned leather, made with NO dyes or toxic metallic chemicals. Reminiscent of fine English horse tack. Every golden tan leash is HAND-OILED to bring out the softness, so your leash arrives supple and feels great in your hands immediately and only improves with age. The color will darken with use and age. This is our choice leather for products where a lighter weight material with excellent strength is necessary. Solid brass (gold colored) hardware is standard.
Leather care is easy! Don’t worry too much, and don’t be afraid to use your items — we promise leather is incredibly resilient, and regular weather won’t hurt it. If you think your item looks dirty, dry, or just need a little extra love, pouring a little leather conditioner on a cloth, and rubbing it in like lotion will usually do the trick. Baths and a jaunt in the river are just fine, but you might want to offer a little conditioner to your products afterwards. Saltwater can be harsh, so after a visit to the ocean, a good rinse in fresh water and proper conditioning will help preserve and protect your treasured leash or collar. If your leather or Brahma leash, training equipment, or harness ever breaks or is damaged from regular use, simply contact Bold Lead Designs for a replacement or repair at no charge. There is no time limit. This is the best warranty in the industry.
Warranty is limited to replacement or repair of covered product only, and does not cover things outside of our control such as chewing, neglect, misuse, normal wear, external trauma or damage from an accident, or customer alterations. Customer is responsible for all related shipping costs.
FYI: Even if the item is not covered it often can be made functional again with a repair for a reasonable cost.
Exclusions: Items we don’t make in our workshop, such as accessories and consumable items, and items made of cloth/fabric are excluded. Non-leather and non-Brahma items, bldBASICS, any item sold "as-is", used, on clearance, that is imperfect and any item marked with a star is excluded from this warranty or guarantee. Some customized options may be excluded from warranty; such excluded items will be sold with information indicating a warranty is not included.

I always struggled through security and looked everywhere for a leash with absolutely no metal. So glad I finally found this one! Price is ok but I would think it would cost less since it’s just one material.

If you fly, you need this. Before I got this lead, I had to take everything off my service dog when we got to TSA security. I would walk through the metal detector and then he would follow but we weren’t attached. I worried that if there was an emergency, we could be separated. BLD to the rescue!! Now that I have this Airport Lead, it’s so easy!! I never have to worry that we aren’t connected. It is a big hit with the TSA screeners also. Sometimes they call over another agent or supervisor, just to show it off. It makes their job easier as well because they don’t have to worry where the dog is. He’s right there with me! Thanks, BLD!!

This is our most commonly used leash for everyday work (I usually use it lopped around the nose). I just it through TSA for the first time recently, and it was really nice for my dog to not need a pat down, since I commonly have trace something-or-other on me.

This is the best lead for for the airport. TSA makes you take every metal off of your dog when going through the metal detector..This leash made it so much easier to travel with my dog alone. I had no issues going through TSA and my dog found the harness to be very comfortable. Than you for just a great harness for dog travelers.

I used this awesome lead on my GSD, Emma’s maiden flight. It was wonderful! I put her Bold Lead Designs Mobility Assistance Harness, Collar and Lead on the scanner belt. I walked through with Emma right after me. It was so simple and easy for us to go through security! Once through I put Emma’s Service Dog gear back on and we were good to go. Emma proved herself to be a pro also on the flights.

Service dog Molly loves this leash. She got the black 5 footer, which is perfect for keeping her close in an airport. The leash comes with a helpful little piece of leather that ensures that the neck hole doesn’t get too big. When molly gets through security with no problems, she’s a happy dog!

I needed something like this to walk through security and this is the only place I found it. The sizing is great – make sure you take into account how they measure (the bigger the neck, the shorter the leash due to the slip).
I love this leash – the only downside is that my dog wants to chew on it because it smells of natural leather (because it is).

My husband and I bought two of these for our two dogs (55 lb boxer mixes), simply because we really liked the no fuss design and they looked like they’d hold up well. The leashes are beautiful, and the leather is really nice quality- you can tell they’ll break in really well. They’ve proved incredibly sturdy, and held up well to the “OMG that’s a squirrel, I must get the squirrel,” test, and our dogs seem to find them really comfortable. I would definitely recommend them for anyone, regardless of the need to go through metal detectors. The customer service was phenomenal as well!
