BLD’s NEW premium quality leather harness has been developed and tested with the K-9 handlers and Military Working Dogs at Buckley Air Force Base and abroad.
Broad Y-shaped Breast Collar: The dog can really pull hard into this harness.. The 3-point Y-shape of the breast collar pad keeps pressure off the dog’s trachea and shoulders and directs it into their sternum and chest. Its shape allows full range of motion for the dog’s legs and shoulders and is soft and flexible to conform to the dog’s anatomy. Fully padded with thick sheepskin for comfort. Most pulling pressure is under the dog’s ribs, so the girth pad is wide and padded as well so pressure is distributed over the dog’s core.
Lead Attachments: We’ve included two heavy-duty attachment points for attaching your lead, depending on where you’d like the leash pressure. Choose the D-ring on the top of the harness for a forward point, or use the O-ring on the handle loop to position the leash further back.
Grab handle: well balanced on the top of the dog to offer pulling, restraint, lifting, or stability. 1″ wide leather is heavy-weight and very comfortable in the hand. It’s reinforced to distribute pressure into both the breast collar and under the chest. Can be used for holding the dog back, front end lifting, or even as a balance handle on a mobility service dog. The handle is about 2″ tall.
5-Point Adjustment: five adjustments are essential to tailor the fit for your dog’s anatomy and proportions. Left and right shoulder, left and right girth strap, and between front legs (martingale). Makes it easy to fit the harness to other dogs of similar size.
Easy on-and-off: Harness slips over the dog’s head, then clips around the dog’s girth/chest. Adjust the harness once, then put it on and take it off with ease. No need to thread the dog’s leg through or fumble with adjustments each time!
Durable construction details: we use only premium quality rust-free hardware, including solid brass buckles and D and O-rings (or chrome plated for a silver finish with stainless steel o-rings). Screw posts are used for assembling the harness for reliability. We never use cheap rivets or stitching for structural components. The stitching we use is for attaching padding, not for holding the harness together! Additionally, the harness is designed so the hardware has minimal contact with the dog for long-term comfort and to minimize rubbing or pressure points.
Genuine shearling wool padding: we’ve lined the harness with thick, premium sheepskin at all the pressure point spots for comfort and distribute pressure correctly. The belly padding UNDER the chest offers optimal comfort and weight distribution because this is the location of most of the force when restraining or lifting the dog. The top of the harness is padded to protect the dog’s spine and keep the latches off the dog’s body. Plus, the breast collar is lined as mentioned above. Our shearling/sheepskin is the real deal–it wears like iron for a lifetime of durability and comfort for your dog. This natural material is breathable, super comfortable, non-irritating, does not build up heat like synthetics, and is great for all climates. Yes, it’s easy to maintain and is washable! Our Golden TAN BRIDLE Leather is 100% American vegetable tanned leather, made with NO dyes or toxic metallic chemicals. Reminiscent of fine English horse tack, this leather is superior in quality to any other leash you’ve seen. Black stitching for a distinctive look.
Our lovely BLACK LATIGO is solid black, and superior to ordinary leather in texture and quality, cut from select USA hides. It is incredibly durable, yet very flexible.Simply gets better with age. Contrasting white stitching for a distinctive look.
We use only the highest quality hardware that is rust-free and super reliable. Choose solid brass hardware for a gold finish, or chrome plated solid brass hardware for a silver finish (some parts are stainless steel, if available). Quick release buckles are plated zinc.
