Bargain sale on imperfect leather BLD harness handles!

Perfect for training, or to get a great deal on another handle for an existing BLD harness.

  • Handle Height: these handles are measured on an "average" standard size MSH/BAH saddle at 9" wide, so the handle height/length given is approximate. Actual handle may vary be +/- 1 inch from measurement given. 
  • Top to Bottom: "T2B" is measured flat on a table, from the arch of the handle, to the bottom of hardware. 
  • Handles over 4.5" in height will have come with a horizontal brace strap. 

Imperfect and irregular items may show stitching or leather flaws, have shelf wear or light use. See tab ABOVE for terms and conditions. Actual handle may vary be +/- 1 inch from measurement given. 

Leather Handle Details

BLD's leather BALANCE handles have quick release latches, and fit Balance Assistance Harness, and the Light Assistance Harness 2.0* made in 2024 or later. Saddle must have the "male end" of the quick release latch. Velcro strips help stabilize the handle by wrapping around the upper O-rings (prevents handle sliding down). 

BLD's leather Support Pull handles have spring snap clips, and fit our Balance Assistance and Mobility Support harness that have lower D-rings. Mouse Ears are REQUIRED for the handle to be supported properly. NOTE: harness must have both lower-d-rings and mouse ear loops for this handle to work. 

Clip-on Handles have spring snap clips, and are made to clip onto the upper O-rings on the saddle. (These are too short to be Support Pull Handles.) Measured from the bottom of the hardware to the top of the handle arch.

Mouse ear loops can be ordered as a kit and are easy to "install" with a screw driver.

Flexible handles are made from double-layered 5/8″ wide leather and will become softer with time and use. These handles naturally drop down to the dog's back when not being held.

The Semi-Rigid Handles are reinforced to make them stiffer to hold their shape and provide increased feedback. Semi-Rigid are recommended for most users. Made to measure in any height/length.

NOTES: BLD handles are made to fit BLD harnesses ONLY and are not compatible with other brands.

*If you have an LAH made before 2020, these narrower handles and are not compatible.

Before you buy:

Please read the information in the BAH-MSH Complete Information Booklet, all information on the product page, and view the accompanying videos to thoroughly to understand what you are purchasing.

Measure and decide what features are critical for you before you purchase. It is very important to measure your dog and determine what size they need for each harness component. You also need to measure the person who will use the harness to determine the handle size. Follow the measuring instructions in the info booklet and on BLD’s website.

Be sure the harness saddle is made to accommodate the handle(s) you need. Harness saddles can only accommodate handles as described. Handle attachment mounts cannot be changed.

Straps Sizing Notes:

Straps have several inches of adjustment range. All harness strap measurements are taken from the center adjustment hole. There is 1.5-2” of adjustment smaller and larger from the given measurement. For example: a 30” girth strap adjusts from 28 to 32”. This means you can buy a strap that’s within 1 ½” of the dog’s actual measurements for a good fit (assuming the measurement is accurate).

New Replacement Parts are Available:

New, made-to-order harness components, including handles, straps, and the harness saddle itself can be purchased anytime at the regular online price. If the part you need, an MSH Belly Strap for example, is not available in the size you need, you can order a new one to complete or refit your harness.
