About the Perfect Pace Products
The Perfect Pace is a head halter/collar/harness designed to stop your dog from pulling and lunging on the leash. The comfortable figure-eight design fits around your dogās upper neck and snout, crisscrossing under the chin. The lead comes off the top of the neck, eliminating pressure on the throat and it does not pull the dogās face to the side or irritate the eyes. The lightweight construction is strong yet comfortable for your dog and in your hands.
How the Perfect Pace Works:Ā When your dog pulls pressure is applied gently behind the head and under the jaw: these pressure points are calming for your dog, which encourages focus. The upward pressure raises your dogās head and reminds them to pay attention to you with less resistance.

The head halter only version has an O-ring to clip on your own leash. Leash not included – we recommend using a lighter weight leash without bulky hardware.
Measure your dog for the best fit.Ā Measure your dog’s neck snugly, just behind the head.
Available in the following sizes:
- Small, 20-30 pounds, up to 13ā neck; Beagle, Jack Russel, Shiba Inu, Corgi, etc.**
- Medium, 30-65 pounds, up to 16″ neck;Ā Border Collie, Husky, Aussie, Smaller Retrievers, etc.
- Large 65-100 pounds, up to 19ā neck; Shepherds, Rottweilers, larger Retrievers, etc.
- X-Large 100-140 pounds, up to 22ā neck; Newfoundland, Great Danes, Mastiffs, etc.Ā
If in doubt, size up.Ā A larger halter will fit a smaller dog, there will simply be more slack between the dog’s head and the leash clip. Not for dogs with short/flat muzzles.**

The halter and leash are one continuous piece of material.
Available in the following sizes:
- Regular Length: Approximately 4ft. of leash
- LONG Length: Approximately 6ft. of leash (Not available in leather)
*The actual length of the leash portion will depend on the dog’s head/neck size.
**Almost any size dog. Dogs must be 20 pounds or larger and cannot have a short/flat muzzle. Do not use on smaller dogs or any dog with a flat face, shortened muzzle or breathing problems. (Brachiocephalic breeds include bulldogs, pugs, boxers, etc.)

The smooth nylon material is 1/2″ wide.
Important Notes:
Please read and follow the instructions and reminders in the package before using this product.
*NOT for dogs under 20lbs!Ā Recommended for medium and larger breeds (over 20 lbs.) due to the way pressure is applied.
**Do NOT use on brachycephalic dogs with short/flat muzzlesĀ (such as pugs, bulldogs, and boxers), on dogs prone to breathing problems, with soft or narrow tracheas or similar medical conditions (brachycephalic breeds are more prone); consult your veterinarian if you have questions or concerns.
Remember that no training device works on every dog. Any tool is only as good as the hands that use it.
Smooth Nylon Material
The silky-smooth tubular material has no hard edges to irritate your dog and is a bit wider than the original woven material to offer increased comfort and pressure distribution. The smooth material is now more durable to resist fraying and snags, and is great for long haired dogs as it doesn’t tangle the fur. It is available in several colors including black, blue, red, and white.

Training Tip!Ā For best results, we recommend using positive reinforcement training to desensitize your dog to the sensation of the halter on his snout before using this product. The novelty of āstuff on my faceā can be distracting for some dogs, but with positive reinforcement, your dog can quickly learn to accept it! We highly recommend desensitization training to help acclimate your dog to the loop on his snout.
Training tools like the Perfect Pace are not a substitution for training, but can help with safer management while the dog learns good leash walking manners.

THIS PERFECT PACE HARNESS AND LEASH WAS AMAZING !!!! LITERALLY GAVE ME A MIRACLE. i have two ~70 lb husky mixes who were near impossible to walk, especially at the same time, because they pulled so hard. i tried several things: prong collar, front clip harness, and also professional walking training. nothing would get them to stop pulling and lunging at squirrels they saw on the walk. the pulling was only amplified when i walked them together. however, i got the perfect pace leash/harness today for both of them. putting it on was extremely easy when following the video tutorial. they pawed at their snouts for the first 5-10 minutes trying to get it off, but after continuous walking + treat reinforcement they stopped pawing and went with the flow. the pulling was reduced by 90% in a matter of minutes. this leash achieved what months of walking training couldnāt fix. i could walk them at the same time and hold their leashes with one hand. This head halter has COMPLETELY changed my dogs behavior on leash! I have an 80+ lb pibble mix, and if another large dog barks at us, even from behind a fence, Shiloh would react with barking and lunging. I bought a Gentle Leader hoping it would help, but with the way it attaches at the front of the neck it was always awkward and didnāt stop her from pulling at all. The Perfect Pace was the solution I was hoping for! Because it attaches to the leash at the back of the head like a regular collar would it feels much more natural to walk, and somehow it just seems to keep her calm and happy. I never thought I would be able to loose leash walk my dog, but this product has literally made a world of difference and changed taking Shiloh for walks from something that I dreaded to something we both enjoy! I cannot thank you enough!

This was my most recent purchase from bold lead. I prefer the original woven material. It stays put better on my dogs. Having said that, this is still a good purchase. It is smooth and durable. Perfect pace is the way to go in dog training!!! Just be patient and bond with your pup. This company is wonderful. Thank you for your dedication making a small company work and grow.
