The comfortable figure-eight design fits around your dog’s upper neck and snout, crisscrossing under the chin. "Received our Perfect Pace Halter on Tuesday and I must tell you how amazing it is. I almost never write product reviews and I would say never an unsolicited one but had to do it this time. Our dog (LUPii) is a 6 1/2 month old yellow lab. Sweet, smart, etc. but he is a puppy. Even with a Gentle Leader (which was very helpful) pulling, etc. would be problematic at times. An almost instant change with the PP. Took him this morning to a fairly human and dog populated park--which we have been avoiding--and other than barking at all humans and dogs--he's very friendly--LUPii was totally manageable. The head halter only version has an O-ring to clip on your own leash.Leash not included – we recommend using a lighter weight leash without bulky hardware. Measure your dog for the best fit.Measure your dog’s neck snugly, just behind the head.
Small, 20-30 pounds, up to 13” neck; Beagle, Jack Russel, Shiba Inu, Corgi, etc.**
Medium, 30-65 pounds, up to 16″ neck; Border Collie, Husky, Aussie, Smaller Retrievers, etc.
Large 65-100 pounds, up to 19” neck; Shepherds, Rottweilers, larger Retrievers, etc.
X-Large 100-140 pounds, up to 22” neck; Newfoundland, Great Danes, Mastiffs, etc.
If in doubt, size up. A larger halter will fit a smaller dog, there will simply be more slack between the dog’s head and the leash clip. Not for dogs with short/flat muzzles.**

The halter and leash are one continuous piece of material. The actual length of the leash portion will depend on the dog’s head/neck size.
**Almost any size dog. Dogs must be 20 pounds or larger and cannot have a short/flat muzzle. Do not use on smaller dogs or any dog with a flat face, shortened muzzle or breathing problems. (Brachiocephalic breeds include bulldogs, pugs, boxers, etc.)
Important Notes:
Please read and follow the instructions and reminders in the package before using this product. *NOT for dogs under 20lbs!Recommended for medium and larger breeds (over 20 lbs.) due to the way pressure is applied. **Do NOT use on brachycephalic dogs with short/flat muzzles(such as pugs, bulldogs, and boxers), on dogs prone to breathing problems, with soft or narrow tracheas or similar medical conditions (brachycephalic breeds are more prone); consult your veterinarian if you have questions or concerns. Remember that no training device works on every dog. Any tool is only as good as the hands that use it.
About the Material
Smooth Nylon Material
The 1/2 inch wide, silky-smooth tubular material has no hard edges to irritate your dog and is a bit wider than the original woven material to offer increased comfort and pressure distribution. The smooth material is now more durable to resist fraying and snags, and is great for long haired dogs as it doesn’t tangle the fur. It is available in several colors including black, blue, red, and white.
It has a cord-lock adjustment to fit it to your dog. It's super simple to adjust the fit: just press the spring-loaded button to slide it down to the back of the dog's head, or to take it off, slide it away from the dog's head.
The smooth nylon Perfect Pace packageincludes rubber chin rings:The optional rubber chin ring can be added to keep the halter in the figure-eight shape and may stop the halter from sliding to the side. Directions are included.

I received my first one of these as a gift. I’ve ordered more since then. I suggest breaking it in slowly to the dog, but then he associates its use with going on a walk. It doesn’t interfere with his muzzle or any area of his face. I had tried a different companies head halter and found that the clip was often moving next to my dog’s eye. This one, because of its design, never has that issue.
It’s super easy to put on and head out to the park or hiking trail. You won’t be sorry! Your dog will behave better and so you will go more places together.
