This Detachable Leash is designed for use with our leather Belt Leash System or Wheelchair Attachment (be sure to select the Quick-Release attachment style). BLD’s modular system allows you to customize your setup and is also perfect for adding an additional dog to your hands-free system. Description

Choose the attachment style you need for your Detachable Leash. The “dog-end” comes standard with our standard bolt snap, select the “human end” attachment style:

Quick-Release buckle– Durable metal buckle works on belt loop or wheelchair attachment (available separately)
Ring & Bolt snap attachment– Leash clips to ring on the belt loop (available separately)

PLEASE NOTE: BELT, WAIST, OR HANDS-FREE LEASHES ARE NOT INTENDED FOR DOGS PRONE TO HARD LUNGING OR BOLTING. Choose and use your leash wisely for the safety of you and your dog.

Length

We recommend choosing an appropriate length so that you and your dog don’t get tripped up or tangled in the leash, or just long enough that your dog can lay down at your feet.

To measure: Use an old leash attached to your dog, hold it to your waist (or wheelchair, where you want it to attach) allowing a loose leash, and measure the length of the leash from your dog to your waist. If in doubt, shorter is better. Remember the leash is adjustable so you will be able to fine-tune to the perfect fit!

Length is the overall length including the attachment, which is available separately. The length options are:

Short: 20″-25″
Regular: 24″-30″
Long: 30″-36″
Extra Long: 36″-42″ (+$)

Width

Choose leash width size:

Medium (1/2” / 11mm. width)—Great for small/medium-sized dogs, yet sturdy enough for larger dogs. Small hardware. Our most popular choice.
Large (5/8” / 14mm. width)—Sized for larger dogs, size fits well in your hands. A good sturdy weight with large hardware.

*The leash width determines the weight of the leash itself.

Hardware

All detachable leash products come standard with stainless steel/chrome hardware (silver color). Standard bolt snaps are shown. Brass colored hardware is available upon request however some wheelchair leash components are ONLY available in silver.

Specialty Hardware

Special hardware is available by request if you need a different type of snap, or want to change the color of the hardware.

Leather

Our LONDON TAN ENGLISH BRIDLE has a supple, satin-smooth finish and satisfying hand feel that is simply unmatched. This high-end leather in London Tan, cherished in the 19th century for the finest horse tack, ages to a warm patina while keeping its light brown and orange tones.

Our Golden TAN BRIDLE Leather is 100% American vegetable-tanned leather, made with NO dyes or toxic metallic chemicals. Reminiscent of fine English horse tack, this leather is superior in quality to any other leash you’ve seen. Every leash is HAND-OILED to bring out the softness, so your leash arrives supple and feels great in your hands immediately and only improves with age. The color will darken with use and age.

Our lovely BLACK LATIGO is cut from select USA hides– it is solid black and is superior to ordinary leashes in texture and quality. It is incredibly durable, yet is very flexible. It feels great in your hands and will simply get better with age.

Leather care is easy! Don’t worry too much, and don’t be afraid to use your items — we promise leather is incredibly resilient, and regular weather won’t hurt it. If you think your item looks dirty, dry, or just need a little extra love, pouring a little leather conditioner on a cloth, and rubbing it in like lotion will usually do the trick. Baths and a jaunt in the river are just fine, but you might want to offer a little conditioner to your products afterwards. Saltwater can be harsh, so after a visit to the ocean, a good rinse in fresh water and proper conditioning will help preserve and protect your treasured leash or collar. All Bold Lead Designs’ handcrafted leather & Brahma products that we make in our workshop are guaranteed against defects in materials and craftsmanship for life!

If your leather or Brahma leash, training equipment, or harness ever breaks or is damaged from regular use, simply contact Bold Lead Designs for a replacement or repair at no charge. There is no time limit. This is the best warranty in the industry.

Warranty is limited to replacement or repair of covered product only, and does not cover things outside of our control such as chewing, neglect, misuse, normal wear, external trauma, or customer alterations. (Even if the item is not covered it often can be made functional again with a repair for a reasonable cost.) Customer is responsible for all related shipping costs.

Exclusions: Items we don’t make in our workshop, such as accessories and consumable items, and items made of cloth/fabric are excluded. Non-leather and non-Brahma items, bldBASICS, any item sold "as-is", used, on clearance, that is imperfect and any item marked with a star is excluded from this warranty or guarantee. Some customized options may be excluded from warranty; such excluded items will be sold with information indicating a warranty is not included.

Limitation of Damages:

Guarantee/Warranty is limited to replacement or repair of product only. Bold Lead Designs, LLC, or its associates, cannot be responsible for any claims or liabilities beyond the scope of the guarantee. Chewing, neglect and misuse, normal wear, external trauma, customer alterations, and items marked with a star void all warranties. No other warranties, expressed or implied, are made. User assumes all responsibility for proper and safe use of product and care of animal. Customer pays for shipping for warranty claims. This warranty is nontransferable. Bold Lead Designs reserves the right to determine if a repair or replacement is covered by our warranty.
