LIMITED EDITION: Guide Dog Lead in Chestnut English Bridle Leather

Length:

This leash is 63 inches (160 cm) in length including snaps and can be adjusted to make a 52 inch and 34 inch long leash (132 cm and 86 cm). 

Leather Width:

• The chestnut English bridle leather comes in 9/16 inch width (14.3 mm) and is a little thicker/heavier than our usual golden bridle leather.

Hardware:

Guide Dog Leads come standard with nickel plated zinc (shown) bolt snaps. 

Leather:

Our Chestnut ENGLISH BRIDLE leather is 100%  vegetable tanned leather, made with NO dyes or toxic metallic chemicals. This is the leather used for fine English horse tack, and is is superior in quality to any other leash you’ve seen. It’s  will develop a beautiful patina and soften even more with use and age. Crafted with a special braid pattern for reliability (no rivets or stitching to wear out). Note: English refers to a style of tanning and leather finishing, not a location.

Chestnut is a rich, warm brown with reddish undertones, named for the glossy shell of the chestnut seed.

The weight of the English bridle is a little heavier and thicker than our usual golden bridle leather. It’s gorgeous and feels wonderful in the hand.

Premium Leather:

Leather care is easy! Don’t worry too much, and don’t be afraid to use your items — we promise leather is incredibly resilient, and regular weather won’t hurt it. If you think your item looks dirty, dry, or just need a little extra love, pouring a little leather conditioner on a cloth, and rubbing it in like lotion will usually do the trick. Baths and a jaunt in the river are just fine, but you might want to offer a little conditioner to your products afterwards. Saltwater can be harsh, so after a visit to the ocean, a good rinse in fresh water and proper conditioning will help preserve and protect your treasured leash or collar. Brahma Soft-Grip—a vegan leather alternative:

Brahma Soft-Grip is constructed with webbing on the inside and a durable, non-tacky PVC coating on the outside. Easy to care for: just wipe clean with soap and water. Brahma is always assembled with screw posts for durability. This material is heavier than leather (in a comparable width), and does not soften over time the way leather does. Black is the most popular color for wheelchair leashes, but assorted bright and classic colors are also available. Just ask for available color choices!
